I must sincerely apologise for my lack of attention to the blog over the latter part of 2010. I had been rather distracted with the ongoing illness and subsequent passing of my mother, Margaret Edna Rasmussen, 17/6/1937 - 30/11/2010.
I would like to thank Mum for her love, my life, our family, and the fond memories. Rest in peace, Mum.
On a much brighter note, I wish to congratulate Mike Soper (Blenheim) and Lance Curtis (Nelson) on achieving the rank of 1st Degree Black Belt. The Grading took place on 4th December 2010 at Headquarters in Christchurch, NZ. It was an 8 hour ordeal which was endured successfully by all Candidates.
2011 training starts at Nelson this Wednesday (5th Jan), at Blenheim this Thursday (6th Jan), and Stoke this Friday (7th Jan). I wish you well with your training in 2011. Don't concentrate so much on the destination that you miss the amazing journey. The greatest surfer is not the first one to the beach.
